success stories

These are just a few of the animals we have given forever homes to.

Lola-Sasha - Lola-Sasha was rescued from a shelter where her fate was to be euthanized. While there, she contracted an awful disease called Parvo, which is often fatal. Thanks to the wonderful people at TLC Rescue, Lola-Sasha was able to get medical treatment and recover. She went into a foster home, and after only an hour, the family who took her in decided to make her a permanent part of their family. Lola-Sasha has two little girls to snuggle with and a cat pal to hang with. Thank you TLC for finding this girl her forever home!

Pork Chop -Pork Chop is an older Beagle mix that was rescued out of a shelter. He was treated for worms, a severe bladder infection and neutered. By the time he was ready for adoption his foster family had fallen in love with him and decided to make him a permanent member of their family. Pork Chop loves to go for walks, do tricks for treats, and is a great all around couch potato. His best sport is "floor surfing" for whatever treasures his little Beagle nose can find, and he is teaching his two little buddies Pugsly and Peanut how to hunt in the backyard. What was once a very scared, shy little guy is now the goodwill ambassador to all the other foster dogs that visit his home. Pork Chop is loved very much by his entire family. Thank you TLC for giving him a chance!

Starr - Starr came to us in terrible shape. She was only a few months old and had a severe injury to one of her front legs. The injury was never treated and allowed to get worse and worse. The only thing we could do for her was amputate her leg. After her surgery, Starr went to a wonderful foster home to recover and learn to walk on only 3 legs. We don't think she knows she's missing any parts, because she gets around fine without it. Her foster family fell in love with her and decided to make her a part of their family. She now spends her days in a loving home with her 2 brothers - Charlie, a golden lab mix, and Spikie, a cocker mix.

Chloe - When Chloe came to TLC, she was so skinny, we named her Bones because we could see all her rib bones! You can see on the left how much she has improved since going into her forever home. Chloe got a second chance, and lives with a nice family now.

Thank you TLC for helping out this girl.

Hank - Hank's previous owners called us to come get him when he was only 12 weeks old. Hank was the last one alive from his litter, as they were allowed to run around a very high traffic area and were all hit and killed by cars. Hank is a Burmese Mountain/Sharpei mix. TLC took him out of that situation where he found a healthy, happy, and safe environment to grow up in. He is now 70 lbs. His new owners report that he simply adores the snow. Thank you TLC!

Chance and Ottis - Chance is a lab/greyhound mix who was found just in time, as the shelter he was at had plans to put him to sleep. He was only four months old at the time. TLC knew of a family near Pontiac looking for a lab, and contacted his soon to be owners, the rest is history. His new family says "I fell in love with him. He was so cuddly and excited when Greg, my fiance, and I went to pick him up. It was quite an experience." Chance is very smart, he even graduated from puppy school. He enjoys going to dog walks, parties and has even gotten these professional photos done. He loves the water and going on trips to Tawas. He even rode on the Mackinaw boat! He has a bad habit of chewing on the pillow's on the couch, but his mommy doesn't seem to mind too much.

Ottis is a lab mix also. He was 2 months old when he was rescued from another shelter where his fate was to be put to sleep. Ottis is the complete opposite of his buddy Chance. He's very spunky and full of energy. He loves all the attention he gets. He loves to jump up on the couch and cuddle during TV time. He has learned how to catch treats when tossed to him. Both dogs got to visit Santa Clause during Christmas. They travel with their owner, and NEVER miss a TLC event. These two are truly lucky.

Tasha - Tasha came out of a terrible situation. Her mother was kept outside on a chain. Sometimes the chain would get wrapped around her puppies and almost strangle them. They were forced to sleep in their own feces. When we got them they were very skinny. Tasha was adopted out to a very loving home and is finally getting the attention she deserves. She is very energetic and playful. Her family reports that she is a fast learner and already knows how to sit, lay down, and stay on command.
