The ROAS is located just behind Matthews-Hargreaves Chevy dealer between 12 Mile and Stephenson Hwy; we are set far off from the street, so you will not see our building from the road. The address is:

The shelter is open to the public between 4PM-7PM Monday - Friday, 10AM-12PM Saturday; we are closed Sundays and all major holidays.
Holiday closure dates for 2010:
- 1/1/10 New Year's Day
- 5/31/10 Memorial Day
- 9/6/10 Labor Day
- 11/26 - 11/27 Thanksgiving
- 12/24 - 12/25 Christmas
- 12/31 - 1/1/11 New Year's

The Royal Oak Animal Shelter is operated as a City service under management of the Royal Oak Police Department.
Our goals are to:
- Provide a safe haven for stray animals found within the City limits of Royal Oak or animals given up by Royal Oak residents
- Reunite lost animals with their human companions
- Place animals into the home best suited to their personalities and needs.
