LATEST ON SUKI!!!
8/23
Good morning everyone, Suki is now back home. We picked her up last Wednesday at the Martinsburg Vet. Susan met us there with her husband Mike and gave us Nanette, a foster going to Patty in Walkersville. Suki was her normal self . . . a Blur trying to go in 15 different directions at the same time. You'd never know she had just been operated on . . . twice! Nanette on the other hand is a sweet, CALM, low key cutie pie who is going to make some family very happy when they adopt her. She slept in Diane's lap on the trip to Patty's house. On the way over to Patty's I hatched an idea of switching Suki with Nanette and letting Patty have Suki. Alas, Patty didn't believe me when I showed her Suki and said "This is Nanette !!!". So Nanette stayed with Patty and Suki came home with us !! The pack of four was happy to see her . . . they took one look at her and ran off in 4 different directions ! We let Suki have the run of the kitchen now but segregated from the other companions. She behaves herself most of the time. Every now and then she starts to get a buzz on but we jump on her pretty fast and tell her to calm down. She spends the nights in her crate in the family room with Diane on the couch. She is peeing like a champ. If she drinks a lot of water, she pees about every 10 - 15 minutes. If she's sleeping, she can go for 2 -3 hours without peeing. She's not leaking !!! As she grows and continues to pee, her bladder is expected to grow in size and normal operations should begin to occur. She's growing like a weed. She's easily twice as large as she was the first day we got her. And not afraid of anything. She's definite an alpha female in the making. Everything on the ground ends up in her mouth. And I mean everything! Typical puppy! 8/15/04: Suki is doing much better and is currently receiving round-the-clock care from Martinsburg Animal Hospital. Here are some cute pictures of Suki and her caregivers:
8/11 AM Suki was rushed into the emergency room
last night. She was apparently in pain and had undone her staples and
done some other it was revealed that she had some internal damage as a result.
They repaired what she had done, which did not appear to involve the
main area where she was operated on. We'll keep you posted.
8/11: Suki is doing well and she appears healthy. There has not been damage done to her bladder. She will be staying at our vets for the next few days for round-the-clock care. Unfortunately, this has added to our total costs. If you can please help us "finish the job" with Suki, it would be much appreciated. |
