Rescue Update

Cool Cats will be able to assist in onsite rescue assistance ONLY for animals that are going to be spay/neutered and then returned to that site.  We are concentrating  on placements  of those animals at our shelter already,  so we cannot bring any new animals into our program at this time.  Once space frees up, we will again update and allow for intake of animals and respond to emails.   In the meantime, if you have one you are concerned about,  please consider fostering it.  We can post their pic and start getting them trained through you in prep for adoption.  You may also send us an email stating your cat situation where you need assistance and we will forward to the rescues in the area for their review.  Make sure you include what city you are in.  In all case, send a digital pic of any cat you want help placing as that speeds up the process.  As you know, we work with only the following types of kitties:  feral, stray/tom, abused,  & abandoned.  Once brought into the program, these kitties need handling before they can be placed, or they need to be released.  In all cases, if they are sick in any way,  we provide them medical attention before re-releasing  or placing them in homes as pets.  This all requires time and effort and space.        Donations, volunteers, and this type of planning allows for us to remain NO-KILL.

Exception:  If you merely need to talk to us about how to trap, borrow our traps, and are planning on getting the animal medical attention and/or spay/neutered so you can place them or find them homes yourself, then you may contact call us at 443 458 0996.   We will allow you to participate with our supporting vets for low-cost spay/neuter.  Any use of our vets requires pre-approval by us before you can get our negotiated rates.      We highly recommend that you visit Alley Cat Allies website for detailed info about kitty trapping and humane population control : www.alleycat.org.   If you need onsite assistance or to place a cat in a program, then please visit Petfinder.com and pull up the other rescue groups in your zipcode.   Finally, note that you can buy a trap from any farm or hardware supply store.   You can also borrow them from Animal Control.
