Cool Cats

Rescue & Adoption

Barn Cat Program

First of all, we don't take in barn cats.  We work with farms to place our feral kitties that can't be domesticated to find a new/safer place for them.  3 things are required, food, shelter and water.  All of our barn cats are altered, up-to-date on shots, and tested for diseases.  They are currently in-training so that when you get them, there is already a feeding protocol in place so they will stay on your farm if you follow the same.  The minimum that we will deliver is two.  (The above shot is a set of siblings we'd like to go as a three-some please!)

Benefits of having a Cool Cats barn cat:

  • They would set up a territory that would keep other wild kitties at bay.
  • They won't reproduce.
  • They assist you in rodent control.
  • You provide a safer new home for these kitties to live than where they came from.

Some folks have called looking for mousers, suggesting that they hope to just turn the kitties loose and let them live off the land.  This is not our goal.  If you'd like to participate with us, then these kitties need to be treated like outdoor pets, with a regular feeding regimen, and most importantly, water.

IF you have outdoor dogs that roam the property unleashed, and have uncontrolled access to the kitty bowls of food, this won't work either because the cats would never get their food.   We can work with you to set up a location that is easy access to you and the cats, and inaccessible to the dogs.  This has been a problem time and again, and folks call us wondering why they never see the cats again after they are released!

To participate, give us a call and we will come out to your property and do an analysis.  Finally, we will select the kitties for you and advise you as to which ones we are bringing.  You can let us know what sexes you'd like, but since they are altered, it isn't really as important.  Their pictures are on our Pet List so you can read about where they came from.

Give us a buzz and let us know if you are interested in being a part of our program.
