For low-cost spay/neuter for residents of other Parishes, contact one of the following:
The Lousiana SPCA (1700 Mardi Gras Blvd. in Algiers) offers low cost spay/neuter for cats and dogs as follows: $25 for feral cat/kitten, $45 for owned cats, $75 for owned puppy/dog under 20#, and $100 for owned puppy/dog 21-60#. Call 504-363-1333 to schedule your appointment.
Southern Animal Foundation on Magazine St. offers low-cost spay/neuter for cats and dogs. The SPAY LA Program offers low-cost spay/neuter for everyone (no financial or geographic restrictions) as follows: $30 for owned cats, $25 for feral cats, $60 for dogs up to 60#, $90 for dogs over 60#, and $110 for dogs over 100#. Do you need a trap to trap-neuter-return ferals? We can help you!! We have traps you can borrow - we require a $50 cash deposit which is returned to you when the trap is returned to us. Under state law, proceeds from sale of these plates are to be used to fund to low-cost spay and neuter programs and services. The funds are distributed by the Louisiana Pet Overpopulation Council, a state board comprised of representatives of humane organizations, animal shelters, elected officials, veterinarians and concerned citizens.
