Spay and Neuter Information Spay Day 2010 - Spay Day is an annual campaign of The Humane Society of the United States and Humane Society International to inspire people to save animal lives by spaying or neutering pets and feral cats. Officially the last Tuesday of February (the 23rd), Spay Day includes events and activities taking place throughout February across the United States and U.S. territories, and around the world. Southern Animal Foundation's SPAY JEFFERSON program offers low-cost spay/neuter for Jefferson Parish residents (Driver's License or State ID required) as follows: $10 for owned cats and $10 for owned dogs . Owned kittens/cats are a $25 co-pay and feral/stray kittens/cats are a $10 co-pay (all feral/stray kittens/cats will be ear-tipped).Voucher Program for puppies/dogs: Residents of Jefferson Parish owning puppies/dogs of any size are eligible for vouchers for a $25 co-pay. Residents of Orleans or St. Bernard Parish owning dogs weighing a minimum of 40# are eligible for vouchers for a $25 co-pay.Vouchers are available on voucher distribution days listed below. The Dorothy Dorsett Brown Mobile Spay/Neuter Center at the Lousiana SPCA (1700 Mardi Gras Blvd. in Algiers) low cost spay/neuter for cats and dogs as follows: $25 for feral cat/kitten, $40 for male owned cats, $50 for female owned cats, $75 for owned puppy/dog under 20#, and $100 for owned puppy/dog 21-60#. The SPAY NOLA Program offers low-cost spay/neuter for everyone (no financial or geographic restrictions) as follows: $20 for cats (owned or feral), $50 for dogs up to 60#, and $70 for dogs over 60#.
