Whether you're looking for general pet-care guidelines, hints on finding animal-friendly rental housing, information on spaying or neutering, dog obedience, or advice on coping with the death of your beloved companion, below are links to pet care that may be helpful.


Spay/Neuter Help

Be a Lifesaver II - Spay and Neuter. Friends of the Jefferson Animal has vouchers available for low-cost spay/neuter for residents of Jefferson Parish owning cats/kittens and dogs/puppies. Co-pay is $25 and is collected at the time the voucher is issued. Visit us at one of our voucher distribution days as follows:

Saturday, November 7th, 10am-1pm, Jefferson Feed, 4421 Jefferson Hwy.
Saturday, November 21st, 10am-1pm, Jefferson Feed, 4421 Jefferson Hwy.

Our "Be a Lifesaver II" Spay/Neuter Program is made possible through a generous donation from the Jefferson Society for the Prevent of Cruelty to Animals, a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization.

Southern Animal Foundation on Magazine St. offers low-cost spay/neuter for cats and dogs.

Also, the Dorothy Dorsett Brown Mobile Spay/Neuter Center at the Louisiana SPCA (1700 Mardi Gras Blvd. in Algiers) offers low cost spay/neuter for cats and dogs. For more information, click here.

Do you need a trap to trap-neuter-return ferals? We can help you!! We have traps you can borrow - we require a $50 cash deposit which is returned to you when the trap is returned to us. Dog Behavior Workshop and Dog Obedience

Interested in a dog behavior workshop or dog obedience courses. The Jefferson Parish Parks and Recreation Department offers them. Call 736-6999, EXT 118 for information.
