Welcome to
the Humane Society of Marshall County, Kentucky!
Our beautiful new facility opened in December,
2006 and is centrally located in the heart of
the Kentucky Lake recreation areas. The
convenient location on Highway 68, just 5.5
miles southeast of Draffenville, better serves
the entire county and offers room for future
expansion. With over 3,000 square feet, we can
now accommodate a larger number of both dogs and
cats and offer many improvements in the housing,
viewing and daily care of the animals. We hope you will add our website to your
"favorites" so you can view the available
animals often. We also hope you will
take pride in one of the area's most
valuable community services. |

 Decorating
Day
November
21st
We are planning a decorating day here at
the facility for November 21st. Everyone
is welcome to come out that day and help
us decorate the facility for the
Christmas season. We really want to
make this year a special season for the
Humane Society and hope everyone will
help us accomplish this. Please
contact the
Society if you are interested.
Christmas
Portrait Days
December 5th and 12th 10:00am -
2:00pm
 Take a look down the page (Halloween
Portraits) and you will see what a treat
our Portrait Days are for all who
participate. Bring your family, friends
and of course, your pets, for a special
Christmas event that guarantees many
great memories! If you would like to
volunteer either/both of the days,
you'll be in for a treat, too! Please
contact the Society at 354-UPET.
Tree
Lighting
Ornaments on sale November 20th
Tree Lighting on December 5th at dusk
 Our 3rd Annual Tree Lighting is just
around the corner.
Ornaments go on sale November 20th. For
each $5.00 light donation, you can choose a red, blue, white or silver
ornament to be personalized with an
honored pet's name:
Red: In Honor of...
Blue: In Memory of...
White/Silver: Homeless Pets...
Ornaments will be displayed on the
Society's Christmas Tree throughout the
season and available for pick-up
afterwards. The Tree Lighting will be
held at dusk on Saturday, December 5th.
You can stop by the Society to reserve
your ornament or simply mail in the
following form:
Tree of Lights.
If you would like to help decorate the
ornaments, please let us know.

give their yearly Christmas (Feliz
Navidad) donation to. They will have a
drop box for items needed and some food
items will be free or proceeds from the

A Big Thank You...
to everyone that helped us with the trunk or
treat event. It was a big success and we had a
really fun evening. Thank you so much for all
the candy donations we received. Here are a few

It's Just Around the Corner...
 Last
year's ice storm is hard to forget and cold
weather is just around the corner again. We want
to be prepared and are in great need of a
generator to make sure our Society friends stay
warm and safe. The donation of a generator would
be so greatly appreciated and is also tax
deductible. We will also accept cash donations
toward the generator purchase. If your heart is
called to help us with this important need,
please contact the Society at 270-354-8738.

Humane Society Calendars are Here!
 Thanks to lots of hard work (and more
than
a
little cooperation from the pets!), our
2010 Calendar is finally here! The
Calendar features photos of our adopted pets. For a
donation of just $10.oo each, you can enjoy a whole year
of great photos of our adopted pets. This is the first
year for the Calendar and we look forward to this
project being a big success! Pick-up your copy today and
consider giving the Calendar as a holiday gift to one of
the pet lovers in your life.

Did You Know...
The Humane Society has an ongoing fundraiser
that a lot of people are unaware of. The Twin
Lakes Antique Mall has a glass showcase set
up for us. All proceeds come to the Humane
Society. They take care of the case and do not
deduct any commission from the sales. It is
filled with the nicer glassware that has been
donated for the yard sales along with items
that other booth vendors at the mall have
donated. Be sure to look for the Humane Society
Glass Showcase when you visit the Antique Mall!
