uWelcome
Come by and visit...
Welcome to the Humane Society of Marshall County, Kentucky! Our beautiful new facility opened in December, 2006 and is centrally located in the heart of the Kentucky Lake recreation areas. The convenient location on Highway 68, just 5.5 miles southeast of Draffenville, better serves the entire county and offers room for future expansion. With over 3,000 square feet, we can now accommodate a larger number of both dogs and cats and offer many improvements in the housing, viewing and daily care of the animals. We hope you will add our website to your "favorites" so you can view the available animals often. We also hope you will take pride in one of the area's most valuable community services.

So Many Thanks...
What a wonderful Christmas season for the Society and all our beloved animals! From our Holiday Portrait Days (see complete album here), to  our Dedication Ornaments and Tree Lighting Ceremony, it was a season full of joy... and one that was made possible by both Society volunteers and the citizens of Marshall County (not to mention our dedicated staff!). We would like to say a very special "thank you" to all of our volunteers who worked so hard to make our fundraisers successful and may we continue to be blessed with the gracious support of our community.

We would also like to extend a special thanks to Taco John's of Benton for making their fundraiser a success. They collected food, supplies and $309.00 in donations for the Society. Thanks to everyone who showed their support for the Taco John's event.

Over the past two months, we have had several groups, individuals, and businesses donate supplies to us and we would like to thank all of them for their donations, as well.

2010 Humane Society Calendars are Available!
Thanks to lots of hard work (and more than a little cooperation from the pets!), our 2010 Calendar is finally here! The Calendar features photos of our adopted pets. For a donation of just $10.oo each, you can enjoy a whole year of great photos of our adopted pets. This is the first year for the Calendar and we look forward to this project being a big success! Pick-up your copy today while it's still early in the new year!

A Heart of Warmth...
Through a donation from the heart of one area resident, the Humane Society family can breathe a sigh of relief about the upcoming winter season. Please join us in extending our heartfelt gratitude to Mr. John David Son for donating the funds to purchase a generator. His generosity insures that our pet family can be provided for in a time of need. This need couldn't have been higher on our "wish list" and we will be grateful  to Mr. David Son for many years to come!

Dr. Johnson (L) accepts the donation from John David Son (R)

Happy Birthday to Abby...
Abby King...who just turned six, recently had a birthday party. Instead of buying birthday gifts, Abby asked her guests to bring donations for the Humane Society. Most of the guests brought food, cleaning supplies and toys. Some of her guests brought cash/checks to help with other facility needs. Abby has said she wants to do this every year and we couldn't be more proud of this very sweet and generous young lady.

Did You Know...
The Humane Society has an ongoing fundraiser that a lot of people are unaware of. The Twin Lakes Antique Mall has a glass showcase set up for us.  All proceeds come to the Humane Society. They take care of the case and do not deduct any commission from the sales. It is filled with the nicer glassware that has been donated for the yard sales along with items that other booth vendors at the mall have donated. Be sure to look for the Humane Society Glass Showcase when you visit the Antique Mall!

So Many Pretty Faces...
We can't help but want to show off the pretty faces of our boys and girls at the Humane Society! Courtesy of Robin Davidson, follow this link for lots of great pet pictures. New photos are added frequently so be sure to check her site often - it's guaranteed to make you smile every time!
