Why does it cost "so much"?

We have found that people don't understand why an adoption fee is necessary; why the animals are not given away for free or at a much lower rate.

We are a non-profit, all donation based organization. The adoption fees are an important portion of our income. We could not afford to operate if we did not charge these fees.

Not only do we provide the services listed above, but many of our dogs and cats come to us in poor condition. We get animals that are heartworm positive, have broken limbs or infections among other things. This is only taking into account the veterinary bills we accrue, we have many other bills that need to be paid each month.

Below is a listing of the costs of the services we provide for each animal that you could expect to pay on your own. Please consider this before deciding to get a "Free" cat, kitten, dog or puppy.
