All animals adopted from us must leave with a microchip and be spayed or neutered to help prevent more animals from needlessly being put to sleep.
We can microchip any pet here at our shelter for only $15.00 per animal.

Our Pet Park is Up and Running!
In the next couple of months we will be looking for sponsors or
advertisements for each 10 foot section of the fence to hang their
shingle on for advertisement and to help up keep the park.
It would serve Wayne County pets in several ways:
a) We need a secure area in case of a TORNADO - FLOOD or other NATURAL DISASTER to TEMPORARYLY stake out a large number of small OWNED & STRAY animals (might be your loved pet) until they can be claimed by their owners. Therefore they would be safe from the elements and from running the streets/county during and after a NATURAL DISASTER.
b) During the time that the PET PARK is not needed for the NATURAL DISASTER PLAN it could be used in several ways:
c) Owners and PROSPECTIVE NEW OWNERS can use it to play with their pets in a secure environment.
d) There could be a small monthly user fee paid to the facility (WCHS) which helps pay for upkeep and improvements. There could be an agility course for owners to train the animals. If the dogs are kept happy and TIRED they do not BARK as much out of boredom. They sleep making neighbors, VOTERS/TAXPAYERS happy.
e) MOST OF ALL the PET PARK area would be used during business hours by WCHS visitors to play with & get to know a dog that they are looking at to adopt.
If anyone has some extra chain-link that they would like to donate... please let us know. If any groups out there would like to help sponsor it... that would be GREATLY APRECIATED.
