Behind that lonely window,
(a kill pound dogs story)
Written by one of our volunteers,
15 year old - Jake Epps
Day by day i sit in this cage, and ponder why im here,
i sit and pace, and run in circles, and all i see is fear.
dogs come and go, but i stay in my cage, and wildly dream,
what the worlds like behind this wicked scheme
all the world i know today, is behind a single lonely window
i see birds playing,
while im still praying,
and i dont get put to "sleep"
i want to live, just not in here!? say i
but wait, my caretaker has taken me out of my cage?but why?
finally! i can stretch my legs and eat a biscuit, but why am i in this room?
oh no, this room the others talk about, they say it is a tomb.
that dogs go in,and none come out, but i see no other dogs in here...
a muzzle? ok, i promise i wont bite you,it just makes me feel more fear
that needle your filling, what is it? is it what the other dogs talk about!?!?!
its in my arm, im feeling dizzy the room is turning black
what the hell did you do to me,im cold and out of whack
oh god, im going, i cannot move or see, help me please! i just wana be free!
i do not wana die, please save me, and end this killing spree
they open the door to the room, and it is brilliant, this light
isee a holy array of light coming from the window, i fall asleep and go to it.
now in death, i am finally liberated, but now i can see, beyond that lonely window.
...
(theres sorta a hidden meaning behind the ending)
