| LESSONS FROM NOAH'S ARK |

Everything I really need to know, I learned from the story of Noah's Ark: 1. Plan ahead; it wasn't raining when Noah built the ark. 2. Stay in shape; when you're 60 years old someone might ask you to do something really big. 3. Don’t listen to critics; do what has to be done. 4. Always build on high ground. 5. For safety's sake, travel in pairs. 6. Two heads are better than one. 7. Speed isn't always an advantage; the cheetahs were on board and so were the snails. 8. When life is stressful - Float awhile ! 9. Don't miss the boat ! 10. Don't forget that we're all in the same boat together. 11. Stay below deck during a storm. 12. Remember: The ark was built by amateurs; the Titanic was built by professionals. 13. If you have to start over, have a friend by your side. 14. No matter how bleak it looks, there is always a rainbow on the other side. 15. Take care of your animals as if they were the last ones on earth ! |
| WHO ARE WE? |
We do NOT ship our pets; all adoptions must be done in person.
We are a non-profit, tax exempt, 501 (c) 3, organization.
Each organization has different fee structures and provides different services for those fees. Our goal is to ensure the pet you adopt from us is in excellent health. Your adoption fee includes the following:
Secondly, we provide an ID tag for each of our pets to be worn on their collars. Each pet is identified with a unique number and we have been successful with reuniting pets with their person(s) within 24 hours of a call.
First and foremost, fostering is about the pet, it is not about you. If you can put your feelings aside and perform a very unselfish act, the act of loving and caring for a pet and then letting it go to a better life, then read on.
Fostering should increase the pet's opportunity for placement. For this and many other reasons, our pets are only placed with families that can make them an integral member of their families. Our pets are to be kept inside where they can learn social skills: how to behave in the house, housetraining, exposure to new sights, sounds and people, etc. A well mannered and socialized pet is easily placed.
Any pet placed in foster care will be fully vetted, or arrangements will have been made for their vet work prior to placement in foster care.
One of the nice things about fostering is choice. You choose to foster puppies or an adult dog. You even get to choose gender and size: large, small and everything in between. Unfortunately, there is never a shortage of pets awaiting placement in foster care. All the supplies you need are provided by the organization.
If you are remotely located from the organization, we do require you to bring your foster pets to our adoptions. A schedule will be provided.
A home inspection and application are required to become a foster.
If you have more questions on fostering, write us at NoahsBark@Ellijay.com.

NOAH'S bARK operates through a network of foster homes, we have no shelter facility. Foster homes provide a temporary home for pets awaiting placement. To learn more about fostering or to become a foster home, click HERE.
FOSTER HOMES
We are focused on finding the right home for each pet in our care and we put the needs of our pets first. To adopt a pet, please complete an on-line application. You will be contacted by a volunteer for an interview. We reserve the right to complete a home inspection prior to approval. We reserve the right to refuse an application without stating why the application has been denied.
ADOPTION PROCESS
Adoption fees help us to offset the costs of day to day care and veterinary expenses for all of the pets in our care. We routinely treat serious illness and injuries and our medical bills are high. For these reasons, adoption fees are NOT REFUNDABLE.
WHAT DOES THE ADOPTION FEE INCLUDE?
Fostering a homeless pet can be an incredibly rewarding experience. It's also a lot of work. Many of our pets come to us with backgrounds of abuse or neglect. Others come to us with serious injury or illness. Many of our pets require some rehabilitation before they are ready to join a new, permanent family. Others are more fortunate and are ready to find their homes almost immediately.
