Gone But Not Forgotten Caoimhe, previously known as Lady, was adopted out of Manchester Animal Control in November of 2004. She was a senior black lab who had endured untold horrors in her life. Poor Caoimhe was in terrible shape. A wonderful woman in North Carolina decided to adopt her. After some very expensive vet care and lots of love, Caoimhe was helped over to the Rainbow Bridge. Before leaving us, Caoimhe had three weeks to be loved and cared for. She left behind someone who will miss her terribly.
Charly came into our animal control as a stray. His collar, as you can see, was so small that the animal control officer had to cut it off. Poor Charly obviously hadn't known much love and kindness in his life. Charly was made available to rescues that specialized in aggressive dog rehabilitation. Poor Charly snapped at people when they tried to pet him. No wonder, considering the treatment he had known. Charly was not available for adoption due to his snappy behavior. The animal control officer did treat him well while he had him. Charly had a liking for french fries. People were kind to him at the shelter, even though they couldn't pet him. Unfortunately, there were no inquiries about rescuing Charly so he was humanely put to sleep to go on to a better place. Poor Charly will not be forgotten.
This is the collar Charly was wearing when he came into animal control.
