Our meeting was called to order at 7:00 P.M. The minutes from the last meeting were read and approved.Marcia was out of town so Tommy went over the statistics for the months of May, June, July and August. We all agreed that even though it does not seem like we are making any progress, the year-to-date statistics are down from last year. The Center is still operating under an employee and volunteer shortage and will remain closed on Fridays when the euthanasia is done. Mimi advised the Board that she had spoken with Marcia concerning a meeting Marcia had with Gary Moore and Scott Trautz regarding the problems with the building. The county agreed to have the mold problems fixed and also approved a janitorial service to come in each night and clean so that the staff does not have to spend their time doing these tasks. The janitorial service is starting on October 1st. The water softener has been revamped and is now working as it should. Instead of redoing the drains they put in an automatic flush system to flush out the drains every few hours and this seems to be working. Mimi told the Board that she had gotten a bid from Ammons Fence regarding making the front gate electric so that the officers did not have to get out of their vehicles at night to open the gate. This bid was too high for the Board to pay and Mimi said that she would get more bids. We are still wanting to get a flag pole and Tommy mentioned putting up an awning over the play area to protect it from the sun and rain. Tommy was also looking into how we can rent a semi-trailer for evacuations. He said he was talking to Waggoners Trucking. | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
