Did you know that the Wildlife Care Center has pets available for adoption? Although our mission is to rescue, rehabilitate, and release South Florida's wildlife, we also care for many domestic and exotic animals who are in need of permanent, loving homes.

When you adopt a companion animal from the Wildlife Care Center, you:

  • Give a second chance to an animal who was surrendered, abandoned, or abused
  • Make room at the Center for more animals by freeing up hospital resources
  • Provide funding to rescue and rehabilitate Florida's fragile wildlife
  • Enjoy companionship and unconditional love!

Animals available for adoption include:

  • Rabbits (neutered/spayed), hamsters, guinea pigs, rats, mice, and gerbils
  • Farm animals, such as pigs, horses, goats, chickens, peacocks, swans, guinea fowl, geese, and ducks
  • Reptiles, such as snakes, iguanas, monitor lizards, and some species of turtles and tortoises
  • A variety of birds, including parrots, cockatiels, conures, parakeets, finches, lovebirds, starlings and canaries (occasionally cockatoos, macaws and other large exotic birds).

Adoption fees vary according to species.  Prospective adopters must complete an adoption form and agree to its conditions.  Adoptable animals are neutered and spayed before going home, unless it is medically unadvisable.

* The Wildlife Care Center does not offer native wildlife for adoption. We do not treat dogs and cats or offer them for adoption. Contact your local shelter if you can provide a good home for a dog or cat.
