Becoming a Volunteer
We're looking to put together a list of people willing to help in various ways, however small, to help our Florida goldens. Here's where we need help:
* We need people who can help at the drop of a hat. Most of the time our calls relate to something that has to be done NOW. So those of you with full-time jobs are probably limited. But, if you have some days or hours available on a regular basis, and are willing to be available at the last minute, please indicate that on the form below.
* Transporting is one area that could use some help. We have a few "regulars", but we'd like to expand our list so that we're not calling on the same two or three people all the time. And we'd like to keep the transports as short for everyone as possible. We cover Lee and Collier Counties.
* Dogs need picked up from shelters immediately, or they risk being put down
* Sometimes we get calls from people who have found a golden and can't keep it and want it out right away.
* Sometimes we need someone to go look at a found dog or a dog in a shelter to make sure it's a purebred and not a mix. At times we can take in mixes when we have room, but if we're full, we have to pass on mixes and need to know ahead of time if the dog is a mix or purebred.
* We need someone with a digital camera who's willing to travel a bit to take pictures of the dogs-either when they come into one of our vets, or in their foster homes. This will help us keep our website updated and help the flow of new applications.
* We need people who are willing to do special events e.g., Petsmart, various animal activities like Petfest put on by Lee and Collier County Animal Services. This involves setting up a table with our information, talking to people about our rescue and SHOWING OFF our goldens!!!
* We need people who are interested in formulating fund-raising ideas.
* We are urgently in need of foster homes. This enables our dogs to be in homes instead of being boarded in kennels….which is no life for a golden.
* We need people who are willing to do home visits on prospective adopters
* WE NEED YOU…. HELP SPREAD THE WORD ABOUT OUR RESCUE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Our insurance
requires that all volunteers must be a current, paid member of
GRINinc. before becoming actively involved with our
organization and our goldens. The yearly membership fee is
$25. Our fiscal year runs from June 1 to May 31 of each year.
