Golden Rescue In Naples Inc.

All I want for Christmas is...

Well if you are Mickey (pictured on the left),    it's to live pain free. I'm sure she would give up all the special treats and woobies in the world to just get through one day without pain. Unfortunately Mickey's story is not unusual and sadly is told all too often. Mickey has come to us with more than her share of problems. Her hips are so bad that she cries in pain when she gets up. Her skin is such a mess that she can't even tolerate being touched on the raw spots. She's about four years old and hasn't been spayed yet, not to mention that she's way past due on her vaccinations.

So ... how much is that doggie in the window?

Just the initial costs of bringing Mickey into rescue are huge. She has to be spayed, brought up to date on vaccinations, have her hips x-rayed, her skin treated and then there will be the costs of medications. That's only the start. She will undoubtedly have to be seen by an orthopedic specialist and more than likely she will require some surgery. We just pray that she's not heartworm positive! If you ever wondered where your donations went, this is it. In a perfect world we would break even on adoption fees, but that never happens.

Can you help?

Sure you can. We know that everyone is "tapped out" this time of year but we really do need donations to continue to help Mickey and other dogs just like her. We look around and see everything that our own dogs have and it just makes us want to help those dogs that through no fault of their own are less fortunate. We cannot save these guys and gals  without your support. Your donations are tax deductible and besides...think how good you will feel helping these dogs. We know that not everyone can foster or do "hands on" volunteer work but this is a way you can help. Without your donations we won't need any fosters.
Thank you for anything you can give this holiday season.
The Board of GRINinc hopes everyone and their pets have a wonderful holiday.
