WHO-WHAT-WHY

My name is Laurie Wessles, and along with my mother Ruth, founded Alley Cat Rescue, Inc. in 1998 because we couldn't find it in our hearts to turn away from cats in need. All are innocent, loving creatures asking for nothing more than a roof over their head, a small dish of food and a human being to love them.

Alley Cat Rescue, Inc. is a safe haven that protects homeless, sick and injured cats. Our highest priority is making sure that all of our cats find warm, loving homes to spend the rest of their days in comfort and health. And, until we are able to find them that perfect home, they will remain with us for the rest of their lives.

In 1998, we made a vow to never put a cat to sleep simply because the cat was ill, injured, or came with a litter of kittens. And we never intend to break that pledge - ever! I know you are aware that all of this costs money; more money than we can possibly set aside for emergencies and unexpected arrivals that are brought or left on our doorstep at all hours of the day and night.

Your donation will help pay for our rescue efforts, the veterinary bills for the injured and sick cats and kittens, and for our spay and neuter program to prevent the animal overpopulation. (At Alley Cat Rescue, we require each adopted cat to be spayed or neutered and we pay for the cost of the surgery.)

Hundreds of unwanted animals are born each year in the Sarasota and Manatee counties. All too many are abandoned, abused and left to fend for themselves. Many of those fending for themselves are very small, innocent kittens. They need our help if they are to live and have a chance to lead normal, happy lives.

Please help Alley Cat Rescue reach out to hundreds of abused and neglected cats by making a generous donation today!
