| Judge certainly fought the odds to stay alive and won!!! Judge was dumped in an outside holding pen at a shelter. The staff found him when they returned from lunch. The coward that left him there knew no one would be at the shelter and they would not be seen. Judge had been shot twice - once in the head and once in the right shoulder. He was bleeding profusely and had already gone into shock. The staff contacted us and we rushed Judge to the vet. No dog should have to endure what Judge is going through. The bullet wound in the head has left him blind in his right eye. The bullet then lodged in his left jaw where it still remains. His jaw is fractured but not shattered. The salivary gland is swollen and the vet is keeping a close eye on it to give it a chance to heal on its own before making the decision to do another surgery. And if all of this is not enough for him to endure he is a very high heartworm positive and will have to go through a slow treatment when the time is right. Judge has a long road to recovery ahead of him but he is a real trooper and is just the sweetest, most lovable lab you could ever want as a member of your family. His medical bills are mounting and probably will reach close to $5,000. He deserves all we can do for him and it will be the lucky family that gets to call Judge their own.

| We Urgently Need Foster Homes |
|---|
| We have a foster program that makes it very easy for you to help us save more labs. Because labs high-kill shelters may only 3-5 days to get adopted, we must pull them from the shelters quickly. Crates and vet expenses are covered by our group. You get to choose the lab you would like to foster and you have first choice in adopting him or her if you just can't bear to see them go! Many fosters though remain fosters because there is a real joy in knowing that you are actively saving lives. Most of our fosters say its a wonderful way to involve the whole family in a worthwhile service project. Please visit our Foster Page for more information. |
