There is nothing more rewarding than to see our dogs find safe loving
forever homes. We welcome the opportunity to see the end result of
our efforts. After all, we all love a good happy ending! The people
and families that adopt from us become a member of the Polaris family.
We always enjoy receiving updates on our dogs and family members.
If you have adopted from Polaris we would love to hear from you about
life with your new family member. Please feel free to
e-mail
us your stories along with pictures.
Dear Polaris,
I was browsing your website today and wanted to send you an update on Kira. Kira
came to us from Polaris in 2005 and we just love her so much! She has really been a
wonderful addition to our family. She is the sweetest girl, and doesn't even seem
to mind when her new little brother tries to use her for a pillow (see pic).
She is also getting along great with our other dog, Bailey, as we all hoped. She
can't stand to be away from him and he is getting some good exercise since she loves
to wrestle!
Just wanted to let you know that Kira is doing very well. She's a healthy and happy
girl and we are very happy to have her.
Thank you for bringing her to us!

Dear Polaris,
We adopted Annie (now Keela), a cute little red husky, about 3 months ago and she is doing
great! She gets along so well with her "big brother" Duke. They don't leave each other's side
the entire day. Before we adopted Keela, Duke was lazy and needed a buddy. Now Keela has brought
some life to the house and gets Duke up and runnin' any chance she gets. We want to thank Polaris
so much for doing what they do for Huskies and for bringing Keela to our life.

Dear Polaris,
Just a quick note to report on the husky (was "Rusty", is now "Harp") that we adopted in July.
Sincere and lasting thanks to Polaris for providing us with the
opportunity to bring "Harp", a 2 y.o. male husky, into our lives. We
had just lost or oldest pup after 13 wonderful years, and had a 9 y.o.
mal-mix and a 6 y.o. boy to blend with. We brought the whole pack to
Ft. Collins, and ultimately it was Tasha, the Mal-mix that picked Harp.
From day-one all three "kids" have been inseparable - playing as a group
daily, co-existing without competition at all. Couldn't be better, and
we couldn't be more grateful!
It has been nothing but proverbial sunshine and flowers with him in our world. The two
dogs are incredibly well bonded, to the point where they can, by choice, eat from the same
bowl simultaneously. The bond between Harp and our son is even stronger, if you can imagine that.
Continued thanks for all that you do!

Dear Polaris,
Just wanted to let you know Nanook is doing well! He is such a blast
to have and is such a lover. We love having him and he gets along so well with our
other dog Shasta. We love to take the dogs everywhere we go. We get stopped
constantly so little kids can pet the dogs! And believe me the dogs eat up all the
attention! I keep telling my wife I'd like to get 1 more Husky but I think she'd
shoot me first!!!
Take care and Thanks always!!

Dear Polaris,
I wanted to give you an update on Harmony, who we adopted from you earlier this year
after our beloved Siberian Mica passed away. Harmony has been a wonderful addition
to our pack! Just as you said, she's calm and well behaved.
It took a while for our dog Coda to adjust to Mica being gone, he definitely missed
her and was sad. We brought Harmony home a week after Mica passed because Coda doesn't
like to be alone during the day while we're at work. Coda has fallen in love with Harmony.
They lie on their beds together and do the doggy version of making out. They put their
mouths together and make love noises. It's not a bark or a whine, it sounds like they're
talking and you can tell they're showing affection for each other.
Harmony won't let Coda lay around all day and act old (he's 9 and she's 3). She nips at
his heals and pulls his tail when she wants to play. She loves going with us to the dog
park and playing in the water. She always comes when we call her.
Since she was an outside dog for so long, it took a while for her to get used to sleeping
in the house, but now she sleeps next to me every night. She still loves being outside and
every morning at 7:00 whines at the front door letting me know she wants to be put on the
lead in front of our house so she can be visited by the neighborhood kids as they walk to
school. Don't worry, she's only on a lead when out front, she spends the day in our backyard
while we're at work.
Our four year old daughter Sophia has told us from the day we brought Harmony home that Harmony
is her dog and Coda is our dog. Harmony will sit with Sophia and join her tea parties. I've
been trying to get a picture of it because it's so cute, but every time I come by with the
camera Harmony gets up to say hello.
Thank you so much for helping us find the perfect "fur kid" to join our family!
Thank you Polaris.

Dear Polaris,
We just wanted to say thank you for allowing us to add a wonderful addition to our
family. Scooper has been with us since August 2006. Scooper has a great
disposition that we love, he is always smiling and happy! Duchess just loves her
little brother! The two of them chase each other around the house for hours. They
our great pals. Scooper loves to snuggle for hours at a time, play fetch with
balls, wrestle his sister. The two enjoy long walks around Celebration on their
split lead. Scooper enjoys getting lots of pets from everyone while he is out and
about in Celebration. He is a great road companion. He loves car trips just
sitting in his seat belt watching the cars pass. They both love going to the dog
park to spend quality time playing. We have enclosed a picture of us at the
Celebration lakefront area. Scooper is on the left, Duchess is on the right.
Thank you Polaris.

Dear Polaris,
It's been almost three years since I left you and, let me tell you, I'm having the
BEST time with my brother Misha (he's the one with funny red hair!). We go to
Chatfield Dog Park every day and run around for at least an hour. Then we get to
ride in the car on errands with our mom. Did you know that the people at ACE
Hardware say that we're their favorite customers?! When we're being such good boys,
we get to everywhere! Once we're back home again, Misha and I love nothing more
than a nice nap together before we head to school to pick up our human brothers.
Thanks for keeping me safe until my perfect family found me.

We adopted Ruby from you in August 2006. She was just a little girl then, about 12
weeks old and was living in Denver at a kennel with her brothers and sisters. She
joined our two other huskies, Buck and Barkley, after the loss our first husky,
Wally ealier that summer. Ruby is a fiesty little red-head who loves to run and dig
and eat sticks. She is very quiet, that is except when we go on walks, she howls
the whole time, she gets so excited. Skynard (formerly Max) joined our family in
April 2007, after we lost Barkley to a rare liver disease. Skynard was rescued from
a shelter in Denver, where they had determined he was too agressive to adopt. He
was in a foster home, before coming home wiht us. It took him a few days to warm up
to us, but now he is the sweetest boy. He is very vocal, loving and happy. Skynard
and Ruby play together and chase each other around the yard all day. Buck, our
older boy, who we adopted from the local shelter, watches them in wonder. Thank you
Polaris for your wonderful work with these wonderful animals, you save them and us
at the same time, when you bring us together.

Hi Polaris!
It's been almost a year exactly that we adopted Dakota, now "Logan".
He is the best dog anyone could hope for. He knows all his commands,
will heel, stay, come, sit, lay down...it's amazing what a good boy he
is! He even comes to work with me. He continues to enjoy hikes with
us, running with me and even running beside my bike and loves playing
with our other dog, his best friend, Abby. Thanks to his consistent
training, we recently took him to Chatfield off-leash dog park and he
was wonderful! He is a true example of what great dogs huskies are and
how well they function when worked with an trained. He's such a lover,
it's hard to imagine our lives without him.
Thank you Polaris!!

Well it's been 4 years since we rescued Cedar, the handsome boy with brown eyes, but when
we recently lost our older girl Juno we needed a new pup fast, so a month and a half ago we
got Kira. She is absolutely loved and loves being here. They are both sucess stories. Here
are some photos, oh by the way, Kira is absolutely in love with our kitten Bit.
We adopted Blaze two years ago this April and we cannot imagine our
lives without him. Rascal, our first husky, treats him like any big
brother would.... A small amount of bullying, playing in the backyard,
fighting for the front seat during car rides, and cuddling up at night. Blaze is the
biggest cuddler and he is very good at keeping our feet
warm at night. He is usually the fastest dog at the Bark Park and loves
to entice other dogs to chase him. Because of his love for running, I
have started running with him almost everyday. His drive and speed
keeps me motivated and we are both getting the exercise we need.
Blaze was very withdrawn when we first brought him home but over the
past year he has truly found his home forever. He even lets us know how
much he loves us by howling I LOVE UUUUUUU. It is amazing to have found
such a beautiful dog that fits into our pack so well. It almost feels
as if we got him as a puppy. Thank you so much for helping us find
Blaze and to complete our pack!

Hello,
We were taking a look at Polaris' web site and came across the most recent
picture of Kuma in the Success Stories section. He looks GREAT! It's been
almost a year since Kuma came to you for care. We vividly remember that ride
north to bring him to you.
It also makes us think that we should have provided an update for Chloe for
your Success Stories because she certainly is one. She and I have just
returned from her evening walk of approximately a mile. It's her second of the
day. She truly loves this time out. She fairly bounces along with her tail
wagging and curled close to her back. A sure sign that she's happy. She will
be walking with us on May 5th when we do the 3 mile MS walk in Denver as our
team's unoffical mascot. She is great company for Diane and the walks with
Chloe have been very beneficial to Diane's MS. Chloe is a joy to us as well as
all who come in contact with her. She is a frequent and welcome visitor at
the nursing home where Diane's Dad stays, sitting in the midst of groupings of
wheelchairs where she is the Belle of the Ball. Chloe has become a
confident, loving friend who seems to know that she has found her "forever home."
I'm attaching a copy of a picture of the Snow Princess surveying her domain.
Once again, thank you for placing Chloe with us. We can't imagine a time
without her.
