A Special Note to George's Friends
Dear Friends:
It is with a sad and
heavy heart that I write to you today to tell
you that Gorgeous George passed away yesterday evening, April 25,
2007, after taking a sudden turn for the worse.
Until the very end, Gorgeous George fought this terrible disease
with such courage and dignity! He never complained and he was
always so patient and good with all the various treatments he was
submitted to. I miss him more than words can ever say.
I hope that I can, in some small way, express
to each of you how
very much your kindness, love and generosity has meant to me over
these past few weeks. Traveling this journey has forever changed
me, as I feel that in caring for George, I was given the opportunity
to be in the presence of angels. Each of you, most without ever
having had the opportunity to gaze upon his precious face, reached
out to George across time and space and gathered him to your hearts
with an abundance of love and concern. Though it was often just
George and I together these past few weeks, we never felt alone, as
each of you walked beside us in love and support.
I often held George and sang to him the old children's hymn "Jesus
Loves Me" and he would fall asleep in my arms. I know those words
are so very true, and today, Gorgeous George once again has the sun
on his face and is free of pain and suffering, along with all the
other precious babies we have all had in our lives who have since
passed on.
I want to thank each and every one of you not only for your
financial support, but for the words of comfort and advice that you
shared with me during times of crisis, and most especially, for your
prayers.
Please know that a diagnosis of CRF does not in itself have to be a
death sentence. Gorgeous George came to us later in life, after his
disease had progressed to a point where his kidneys and other organs
had already become severely compromised.
I always told Gorgeous George when he received a donation, or when
one of you would write us an email filled with hope and
encouragement. I know, in the spiritual way that only animals truly
have, he felt your love, compassion, and caring.
Thank you all so much for
sharing this journey with George and
I. May God richly bless each and every one of you for your loving
and compassionate hearts!
Love Always,
Annie and
Gorgeous P. George
