Kitten Crisis

Each year becomes worse for stray kittens and cats. Shelters and rescue groups across America are overrun with stray or unwanted kittens and cats - and those are the ones lucky enough to make it into a shelter. Because there aren’t enough homes to go around, most of these animals will be euthanized. But it’s the cats and kittens still on the streets who have it the worst – always searching for food, vulnerable to illness, injury or death. It's a scary world for them.

Please always spay or neuter your pets and remind your friends and relatives to do the same. It’s the only way to control the pet population, which is completely out of control. Sadly, there simply are not enough homes for the animals who are already alive. There are many low-cost clinics in every area of the country and are easily found via the Internet. Large rescue groups or local shelters often provide vouchers to help with the cost. Remember: The animals can't do it for themselves!

Adopting a Friend

If you see a cat on this Web site who interests you, please call the foster mom/dad to make arrangements to meet the cat. If you get an answering machine, please leave a message including the name of the cat. (If you email us, please include your phone number.)

The adoption procedure is very thorough. You will be required to fill out an extensive questionnaire and agree to an adoption contract. (Sorry, these are not available on-line at this time.) You will also be given information about cat and kitten care, including the many facets of caring for a new cat and introducing the cat to a new environment. We want your adoption to be a success!

Please do not try to pick a cat based on color, breed, or the memory of a cat you once loved. It is very important to let the cat pick you, rather than the other way around, because cats go by scent and are naturally attracted to certain people while indifferent to others. Unfortunately, we are not currently equipped to do long-distance adoptions.
