Volunteering/Fostering
Do we need volunteers? YES! YES! YES! Most of all we need FOSTER HOMES. FOSTER PARENTING is a wonderful way to help homeless animals. So many cats and kittens need to be taken off the street. We can't help everyone who calls with a sad story, since we take these animals into our homes. So space in your home for just one cat or kitten during the week can make the difference between life and death for that animal.
During "kitten season" so many tiny orphans need bottle-feeding for their first few weeks. If your schedule permits every-four-hour feedings (and you're up to it), call us or drop by during adoption hours at PETsMART.
We often receive calls about abandoned MOTHER CATS and their LITTERS. They need a quiet room to themselves. It's a joy to see them care for their babies. (And no bottle-feeding required by you!).
Sometimes we get single cats or kittens that just need a place to be secure until they're strong (or old) enough to start coming to adoptions. If you can foster just a single cat or kitten for us, give us a call.
TLC covers any veternarian bills, supplies for kittens, testing and spaying for the mother and any medical needs that may arise. You provide a safe environment, food and lots of tender loving care.
We also need help STAFFING adoptions days. As little as an hour on a weekend helps so much. We recommend that all volunteers be up-to-date on tetanus vaccine and volunteers all sign a liability release form. Come in and meet nice folks and many super cats and kittens!
