Joy and Anais's Story

Both sisters are slender and dainty, but Anais is a dilute calico (paler) while Joy is regular calico.

Joy and Anais first came into shelter care on March 20, 2008. They were turned in as young adults at a shelter on the outskirts of the Lower Mainland, a pair of "strays." The delicate-looking youngsters were so shy that they were unadoptable from their first shelter so they were sent to Katie's Place on July 16. We set them up in one of our cat condos and found that we were able to pet them. In the condo, they could be approached without any problem as long as we didn't lunge at them or make any loud noise. In fact, they were eager for attention. It was an exciting adventure for them to hobnob with a stranger and they seemed almost breathless at their own daring in inviting it. But they couldn't live in a condo forever and once they were set loose in a communal room, they fled whenever the door swung open and people came in. It was too much, too fast and too sudden for them to overcome their nervousness and invite the attention they enjoyed so much. So they may be with us for a while since they're a shy pair who are bonded and must be adopted together.

The first video below is of Anais. The second one is Joy's.
