Our Events and Fund Raisers
Raising enough money to care for all our charges is as big a task as actually
caring for them, and our volunteers are always planning something. This
page will let you know what we've got in the works next. We'll keep it
updated so you can mark your calendar for our next garage sale, mall display,
raffle, or whatever event is coming up next. You'll also find our on-going
events and fund raisers listed at the end. Be assured that the proceeds
of all our fund raisers go to the animals. The volunteers who work on them
and donate materials take no remuneration.
Come out and see us. You'll find it worth your while. We have some very
talented people donating their skills and some very generous merchants
in our community who support us with gift prizes or lend us space for our
displays. We'd also like to chat and answer your questions about our shelter
and our animals.

Vote for Katie's Place at The
Animal Rescue Site and we could win $25,000 to help pets in need.
The Animal Rescue Site is hosting a challenge for eligible Petfinder.com
shelter and rescue groups. The grand prize is a $25,000 grant, and they
will be awarding many other grants to rescue groups with the most votes
-- a total of $100,000 in grants for animal welfare organizations.
To help us win, all you have to do is click to help rescued animals
first (the box where it says "Click Here to Give - it's FREE!"). Then vote
in The Animal Rescue Site $100,000 Shelter+ Challenge (the little box at
the top of your screen with "Vote Now!"). Both these actions are free!
You can vote at The
Animal Rescue Site once a day, every day, from September 29 through
December 14, 2008. Every time you vote, or tell a friend to vote, you're
helping us win.
November and December
We're doing Pet Photos with Santa at Bosley's Pet Food Plus
(22745 Dewdney Trunk Rd, Maple Ridge) on Sunday, November 30 and on
Sunday, December 7 from 11am to 4pm. The cost is by donation. All proceeds
will help us pay our vet bills. Bring your furry, feathered or scaly friend
and help the animals while getting a nice Christmas memento of your pet!
Ongoing:
'Meat Draw'
We're doing a Jersey Joe's Sport Bar-sponsored 'Meat Draw' at Jersey
Joe's, 19267 Lougheed Hwy, Pitt Meadows, between 3:15pm and 5:15pm every
Saturday.
Teddy Bears
Long term supporters of Katie's Place named Bob and Lorie have given
us some adorable teddy bears wearing Katie's Place hoodies. We have 144
of these beautiful bears and they can be purchased for $15 each or 2 for
$25. There is "Brambles" the brown bear and "Baxter" the black bear and
they are high quality, gorgeous teddy bears! Call us at 604-463-7917

Cards
We are offering hand-crafted cards featuring our own Katie's Place
animals. Each box contains six cards and envelopes and each card describes
the journey of one pet from homelessness into a happy home. One boxed set
