Devon's Story

Devon had been a barn cat and he came to us when the property owner passed away. If he had been a barn cat, he must have enjoyed a lot of contact with people because he was a very loving cat once he'd settled in at the shelter. But loving or not, he was a plain, black-and-white cat, and he was nine years old when he arrived in January 2004. Luckily, he found a home with an lady who was happy to give such a fellow a chance. He proved to be quite dominant with her other cat and would intimidate the cat. But they managed and carried on until July 2009. That's when the lady went into permanent care and both her cats came to Katie's Place. So Devon was back and, if our original information was correct, he was 14 years old now. He has a mature face but he's sleek and robust for a 14-year-old. He's lively and loving. Still, he's a plain Domestic Shorthaired senior cat who may prefer to be an only cat. (He manages beautifully among his roommates but we can't discount his former person's experience.) So Devon is hard-to-place. It will take a compassionate adopter to choose an old fellow among all the youngsters, no matter how friendly and robust he is.
