Zephyr was rescued from a local shelter - emaciated, scared and heartworm positive. She was quite leery of people so we assume she was treated badly at some point before we rescued her. GSRCA got her well and socialized. Zephyr still had some fears but all in all was a happy girl. Tragically, the day of her adoption, she slipped her lead from the adopter. After searching all over, we found Zephyr dead on the interstate just a couple of hours after her disappearance. This was very hard on everyone in rescue but especially Zephyr's foster mom and adopter.
