Raby (along with Wheeler) was rescued in August 2007 from Wheeler State Park where they had probably been dumped by the breeder. We presume that Raby was Wheeler's daughter. Raby had a deformed sternum that prevented her heart from growing properly. Our vet determined she would never be able to run like normal dogs without getting out of breath. GSRCA elected to let Raby cross the Rainbow Bridge where she could run and run and run and never get tired. It was a difficult decision to make, however was the kindest thing to do for her.
