Foster Home Questionnaire

Thank you for your interest in becoming a foster parent. HSEC is a small group that relies on foster homes to save as many homeless and unwanted German Shepherds as possible. All our rescue dogs spend time with one of our core members before they are placed in foster homes. We make sure that they are given their shots, have been vet checked, and are spayed/neutered whenever possible before they go to a foster home. We get to know a rescue during this time so we can give you an idea of what to expect. Because we are a small group, we have limited resources and can not currently supply items that dogs need such as food, toys, or crates. Volunteer foster homes are responsible for providing these items along with the time and love a rescue dog needs prior to adoption.

If you would prefer that we send you this questionnaire via email, please let us know.

Please take some time to tell us about yourself - your hobbies, interests, and so on....

We will review your application and check your references in a timely fashion. Then we will arrange for a volunteer to visit your home. Once you are approved, we will send you information about dogs we feel would be a good match for your home based on the information you have provided. All foster parents must sign a contract that they agree to take care of rescue dog placed in their home and provide for the dog's needs before they are adopted.

HSEC retains ownership of the dog, and a foster home can return the dog to the rescue any time they chose to. We will adopt dogs to our foster homes that wish to add them to their family, but we have a rule that new foster homes cannot adopt their first rescue dog. We look forward to making new friends as we all work together to save lives.
