Whew is it hot!! The dogs continue to love to run loose every day and eat grass and dirt and play in the wading pool. Kiche (SCL) is still shy and barky but she has made a lot of progress. I take her for walks occasionally (for several miles!) on a flexi leash. She doesn't pull or yank at all. She just walks along but keeps a close eye on the people and dogs that are on the walk. She continues to get bolder with me. If I walk through her circle she will jump at me to sniff my legs. Once I start petting her under her chin she will relax and I can let go of the chain. If I stop she will bark and take a step forward for more pets. She still doesn't trust me to go over her head and down her back, but she will one day.
Today was extra fun. I had 8 dogs loose including Misty (SCL adoptee). I usually hook Misty back up when I start to let everyone else loose for she is pretty wild and rambunctious in her play. But today I just started letting the other dogs loose and pretty soon I had them all (excpet for Kiche and Jewel) loose. Misty behaved herself and everyone played nicely. Of course it was very hot and they didn't charge around much like they usually do. 24 dogs loose today in the yard. I clipped toenails and brushed them.
I am looking forward to cooler weather, especially to be able to harness break Kiche.
