Jenny's progress

Jenny is doing better and better. Yesterday, I was out in the dogyard making my "hug" rounds with the dogs and snapping some pictures. I coaxed Jenny out of her house, like usual. She allowed me to pet and massage her ears and shoulders. Afterwards, instead of jumping back in her house, Jenny stayed out and ran around her circle a bit. This is definitely progress!! She's slowly coming along. She does play with Snuggles, her neighbor...so she's settling in. For now, the most important thing is to keep showing Jenny that touch is pleasurable; not scary. :o)

Settling in

Well, Jenny has been here for over a month and seems to be doing well. She is extremely shy, though I feel that she'll come around nicely. We are petting her each day and working on just getting her comfortable with us. We'll do a few runs this summer on cooler days just to get the dogs out for some exercise. Until then, we'll just keep working with Jenny, getting her to relax and settle in. Shy dogs sometimes take a long time to come out of their shell, so we know that Jenny just needs time, patience and loving care. We have high hopes for Jenny and look forward to running her with the team.

As for Munchkin, she is doing great! She has gotten so fat that she looks like the Pillsbury Dough Boy! She loves playing with her neighbors and sometimes gets a little rowdy and wound up...but she sure is a happy dog. We'll be working with her more in lead and will really need to trim her down. Amazing what just some good food and good care will do for a dog. :o) Now, if we can keep her from eating her house, we'll be doing good.
