SMOKEY!
Our new foster dog is Smokey. So far, Smokey is growly with male dogs. I've introduced him very slowly to a couple, and so far he is not reliable. He is extremely strong and quick, so this has to been done very carefully. If the other dog is quiet, he tends to be quiet too, but if the other dog gets excited then Smokey will turn defensive. Smokey is more defensive if I am close by, so he also trying to be a protector. He doesn't bother our alpha female at all; in fact, he's smart enough to keep his distance. Smokey was recently neutered, so we will see if his behavior improves.
Smokey is an extremely fast and energetic dog; I think he could do sprint or skijor easily. He's generally quiet, but will howl a bit at dinnertime or if a strange dog is in the area.
