I live in Fairbanks with my husband Michael. We first discovered the plight of shelter dogs four years ago, and have been doing canine rescue ever since. To me, socialization is of the utmost importance; far too many sled dogs come into the shelter without even basic "people" skills, and they don't get adopted because they are too difficult to manage. Our dogs are family members, first and foremost.
