Pumkin Fund

Our Thanks to Daniela Montgomery who entered this photo in the Patriotic Pets contest. She emailed everyone she could think of and posted on every forum that would let her to get people to vote. And she won!

With her $500 prize Daniela is establishing the Punkin Fund. Punkins Promise Fund is to be used for medical treatment for rescued dogs.

Pumkin was a very special foster to the Montgomery family. This tiny yorkie cross had been tied out and basically ignored, she was full of mats and terrified until she was rescued by Gail of Feral Cat Consortium in Louisiana. She tested heartworm positive and while getting preliminary tests and xrays, it was discovered she had a leg that was broken and then set with pins that were so large that they dug into her muscle and skin, her liver was disfunctional and she was producing large amounts of bile. The decision was made after consultations with our vets that it was all too much for this little girl, she would be lucky to survive her heartworm treatment- her chest xrays showed they had infested her tiny organs as well as her heart. Pumkin passed being held by her loving foster Mom.
