German Shorthaired Pointer Rescue of North Texas is a 501(c)3non-profit that places abandoned GSPs in safe, loving homes. We are not a shelter, we are a foster home based rescue group. We rely on foster homes and your tax deductible donations to save as many GSPs as possible.

Unfortunately, at this time, GSP Rescue of N TX does not accept English Pointers or mixes.

Help for IKE Evacuees with German Pointers

Texas GSP Rescue offers its assistance to families who have evacuated with their German Shorthaired or Wirehaired Pointers. While our resources are limited, we would like to help families who have evacuated with their German Pointers in any way that we can. Please contact us with the city where you're currently residing and what help you might need for your dog. Our goal is to help families who may not otherwise be able to keep their German Pointers without aid.

Austin Adoption Event- Sat, Sept. 20th

We will be having an adoption event in Austin at the Petsmart on I-35 near Parmer Lane from 4-7pm on Saturday, September 20th. Please come out to support us and meet all the great Austin dogs! If you are interested in adopting that day, be sure to fill out an adoption application as early as possible before the event! An approved application will speed up the process on adoption day AND allow you take home a dog that same day, if the dog is a match for your family. Dogs most likely to attend the event:
