Mission Statement

Spanky's Project is dedicated to finding homes for kennel dogs whether the kennel is large scale or only a few dogs. We work with breeders to help make them aware that there are other alternatives for them to choose instead of euthanizing, advertising "for Free" in the classifieds, selling for research, or to be uses as bait for dog fighting.

Spanky's Project does not pass judgement on the kennels because they and sanctioned by the Pennsylvania Department of agriculture and USDA. We do try to help breeders understand the merit of running clean and humane kennels, timely veterinarian care, and how proper nutrition can improve the quality of life for these dogs.

Dogs surrendered into the care of Spanky's Project are quarantined, temperment tested, and recieve veterinary care (spaying/neutering/shots) before being made available for adoption or placed in foster care. SPERC works with several reputable breed-specific rescues.

Spanky's Project is committed to saving the lives of kennel dogs and giving them a chance to be a member of a loving family, and the freedom to enjoy a safe and happy home.
