PLEASE HELP PHISHY

Phish Food, aka Phishy, is an adorable young Tuxedo male kitty who desperately needs your help. Although he looks like a normal happy and healthy kitten, he has a serious medical problem that is threatening his life. Please read his sad story below and see how you can help make this a happy ending.

Phishy was found as a stray and taken in by the Ramapo-Bergen Animal Refuge when he was just a few months old. We soon noticed that he was having seizures, and our vet immediately gave him some medicine, but it did not help. We think he definitely had a home at one point in his short life, and we wonder if this poor boy was dumped because because his previous owner could not deal with his medical condition.

Through a series of tests, including an MRI and a painful spinal tap, we discovered he has water on the brain (hydrocephalus), and needs to have brain surgery to put a shunt in to drain the water. Without this surgery, Phishy will die.

This is Phishy at the vet... what a good boy.

Phishy is now in a loving foster home with his new pal Joey who is very worried. Joey is helping Phishy to rest comfortably until his surgery. Neither of them quite understand why life has dealt Phishy such a tough blow.

This surgery is going to cost over $6,600, not counting the pre and post operation costs. We are a private non-profit no-kill organization, and we need your help to raise money to provide Phishy with this critical care that he deserves.

Please find it in your heart to donate towards this expensive life saving operation which he now requires to have a chance at a normal life.
