 Special and Urgent Needs

Our most urgent need is to help Captain get his much needed medical treatments.

Captain needs your help

Captain was found wandering the streets of rural South Carolina.  Homeless and without the love of a human, he survived the best he could.  He is presently severely emaciated, and infested with multiple internal parasites.

The worst of these being Heartworms, a deadly infestation if not treated.  The treatments are expensive, and Captain is only one of many that we have treated this year.  In addition to the heartworm treatment, Captain also needs treatment for all the other internal parasites and entropion surgery.

Captain enteres rescue

Entropion surgery is to correct a condition where his eye lids are actually rubbing the cornea of his eyes - a situation that is not only painful, but can cause blindness.

UPDATE : Mid July '08

Captain has received his much needed entropion surgery, the dental, and he is now neutered.  Additionally, he is receiving additional treatments for the internal parasites and should be free of all those ( with the exception of Heartworms) in the coming days.

Captain is on a high calorie diet in order to build up his strength and get some much needed weight on the poor boy.  Hopefully, in the next few weeks he will be cleared to begin his heartworm treatments.

The funding is not in place at the present time for his treatments, if you could help by donating to him, even a dollar brings us that much closer to being able to get this boy healthy again
.

Presently we have in rescue dogs that are undergoing treatment for heartworm disease.  These treatments are not only expensive, but also very hard on the dogs physically.  Please consider making a small donation to help offset the costs involved in treating these dogs.

In addition to those already in rescue, there are several saints in need of rescue, we have a rather lengthy 'waiting list'.  At the present time, we simply do not have a qualified foster home to place the dog(s).

We are urgently requesting past adopters of NCSBR to contact us if you are willing to become foster homes for these needy dogs.

Others interested in joining the Foster Family Program are requested to complete the standard adoption application and specify in the notes section that you are interested in joining the Foster Family Program.

Together we gave several Saints a very happy ending. Everyone together has made a difference.

NCSBR has always been a small rescue, and we have made but a small dent, but to saints like Molly, Trish, Lily, and Sissy it truly meant they have a chance at life.  We could not have provided the necessary care for these sweet ladies without the support of the community.

Check out the Remember Me? section for updates on some of the past Urgent Needs Pups.

Words cannot begin to express the appreciation we have for all the donations of not only money, but food, toys, bedding, bowls, and other supplies.  Together we did make a huge difference for such a small rescue.

We use Animal Hospital of Fayetteville for most of our vet work. The urgent needs Saints various medical conditions can be verified by calling them directly at (910) 323-1535 .

If you desire to talk directly to us, please feel free to contact us at any of the email or phone number contacts throughout the web site.

Could you please find it in your heart and pocketbook to make a donation to help these saints and the others like them get the needed medical attention they need in order to find a forever home?
