Why Should I Adopt a Pet? Animal shelters, like PAWS, are your best source when looking for a pet. We have a variety of animals available - adults and youngsters - and sometimes have purebred animals. We screen all of our animals for temperment and sound health before adopting them out. When animals are relinquished by owners we are able to obtain a thorough history. Then, while caring for the animals, staff and volunteers try to learn as much as we can about these animals as well as the animals who come to us as strays. Don't be discouraged if, when you first visit us, there are no animals of the breed or type you want. We receive new animals almost daily. Check out our pet list to see who's at PAWS. Another advantage is that our adoption fees ($50 for cats; $60 for dogs) are much less than an animal's purchase price at a pet store or breeder. Plus, your new pet will be dewormed, spayed/neutered, and vaccinated. |
