Click here!Who We AreWe are a very small group of foster homes, specializing in all-breed rescue and pit bull education. We do not have a shelter. Our volunteers are dedicated to providing a loving home environment for each foster dog. We strongly believe in educating the public on responsible pet care and restoring the image of the pit bull breeds through responsible pit bull ownership and education. We accomplish this through distributing printed educational material and providing online links to helpful pet care and behavior advice.
Did you know? Our Pit Bull Educational table debuted in November 2004 at the Novi Pet Expo and was a smashing success! Since then, our Pit Bull Educational table has been featured at several pet adoption events throughout 2005 including Petapalooza, Find-A-Furry-Friend in Ferndale, the Great American Meat-Out, and many more! In typical Pit Bull fashion, Gulliver lavishes his transport coordinator, Sheri, with kisses!

MEET GULLIVER! A 6-month old pit bull Hurricane Katrina survivor 10-14-05. Gulliver was rescued from an abandoned home after hurricane Katrina. He was taken to the Lamar Dixon shelter in Louisiana. After two weeks at the shelter, Gulliver met Sheri, a transport coordinator based here in MI. Gulåliver's pit bull charm and adoring kisses tugged at Sheri's heart. Determined to help Gulliver out of the shelter, and into a rescue, Sheri gave us a call. While we did not have a foster home available to take in Gulliver ourselves, we were able to match Gulliver up with a local Pit Bull Rescue Central volunteer who was very committed to fostering a Katrina pit bull! If we are unable to locate Gulliver's owners in the next few weeks, Gulliver will then be put up for adoption. Gulliver will remain here in MI with his new foster mom, Stephanie, until he is either reunited with his owners, or finds a new forever home to call his own. To help reunite Gulliver and hundreds of other pit bulls left homeless by the hurricanes, Pit Bull Rescue Central (PBRC) has started a project of gathering contact information from both owners who had lost their dogs, and shelters and rescues who have taken the dogs in. PBRC has also started a fund to provide financial aid to help owners and rescuers care for pit bulls like Gulliver, who were rescued from the floods. |

We are also in desperate need of foster homes for all breeds of dogs.
We get anywhere from 3-20 phone calls/e-mails per week, about homeless pits in need. But we simply don't have the room for them. Currently we only have on pit bull foster home :(
Even if you can't foster, you can still help! You can sponsor a foster dog (i.e., help with vet bills, or donate the following items: dog food, vet care, leashes, collars, toys, crates, blankets, training, etc.) If you are interested in fostering or sponsoring a homeless pit bull, please e-mail Diana at: mipitcrew@yahoo.com or call me at 313-702-5501. If you are interested in fostering or sponsoring other breeds of homeless dogs, please call Mary at 734-587-2423.
ATTENTION: Due to a lack of funding and foster homes, we are NOT accepting any more pets at this time. HOWEVER, if you have a pit bull in need of a home, and need advice on placing him/her properly, please e-mail Diana at: mipitcrew@yahoo.com. Please do not contact me about out-of-state pit bulls in need. There are plenty here in Michigan that need my help, we cannot keep up with all the calls and e-mails. For out-of-state pit bulls in need, please visit www.pbrc.net for a list of pit-friendly rescues in your state. Thanks so much!
IMPORTANT: You must be 21 years of age or older to fill out our online application, or to call us regarding a dog. Applications from minors will automatically be discarded. Parents, please do not ask your children to contact us for you. Calls from minors will NOT be returned, please ask an adult to contact us instead.
