KITTEN CRISIS
Every year is a worse year for stray kittens than the year before. Every shelter and rescue group in America finds itself overrun with stray or unwanted kittens and cats - and those are just the ones lucky enough to make it into a shelter. Most of these animals will be euthanized because they are un adoptable or just not lucky enough to be adopted. The cats and kittens who are still on the streets are the ones most in jeopardy of having a horrendous life, always looking for food, vulnerable to illness, injury or death by car or by other animals. It's a scary world for them.

We urge everyone reading this to PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE remind your friends and relatives to spay and neuter their pets. There are many low-cost clinics in every area of the country. Anyone with access to the Internet can find someone to help with the cost, if that is a consideration. Check large rescue groups or local shelters for vouchers to help defray the cost. As we know all too well, there are just not enough homes for the animals who are already living! And as Bob Barker has been saying for a million years: "Help control the pet population. Have your pet spayed or neutered!" To which we add: Help a friend's pet or a stray, too. Remember: The animals can't do it for themselves!
Adopting a Friend
We do not do long-distance adoptions. If you see a cat on this web site that interests you, please call the foster mom/dad to make arrangements to meet the cat. If you get an answering machine, please leave a message including the name of the cat, so the appropriate person may contact you. (If you email us, please include your phone number.)

The adoption procedure is very thorough. Prospective new parents are required to fill out an extensive questionnaire and a two-page adoption contract. (Sorry, these are not available on-line at this time.) Along with the adoption papers, they are given information about cat and kitten care, including the many facets of caring for a new cat and introducing the cat to a new environment.

We frequently remind people not to pick a cat based on color, breed, or the memory of a cat they once loved. It is very important to let the cat pick the person, rather than the other way around, because cats go by scent and are naturally attracted to certain people while indifferent to others.
