Adopting a Friend

You've made the right choice in choosing the adoption option, now your on your way to adopting a new best friend!

All of are adult dogs and cats are spayed or neutered prior to going to their new home. Kittens and puppies under the sterilization age are adopted on a sterilization agreement. Upon the same day as sterilization, the vaccinations will be given.

There is an adoption donation to be paid upon approval of a minimum of $50. This helps to defray the costs of veterinary bills and rescue efforts.

All prospective adopters are carefully screened as we strive for a "match made in heaven". We require adopters to fill out a short application, and provide us with references that we will check. A home visit may also be conducted. After recieving an application, we have a proccessing period of a minimum of 24 hours. Upon approval, we will notify the owner and arrange for sterilization.

Since not all animals are suitable for all potential adoptive homes, we do reserve the right to turn down or limit any potential adopters to certain animals as we deem necessary. We will help you choose a dog or cat that will be compatible with your family and lifestyle. We want you to be happy with your choice and your new friend to be happy with you.

Please remember this is a lifelong commitment; however, if for some reason the match does not work out (at any point), we must be notified and will help you make arrangements to return or place the pet.

A Poem

TRIBUTE TO A DOG

[Senator George Best, 1870]

The one absolutely unselfish friend that a man can have in this selfish world, the one that never deserts him, the one that never proves ungrateful or treacherous, is his dog.

A man's dog stands by him in prosperity and in poverty, in health and in sickness. He will sleep on the cold ground, where the wintry winds blow and the snow drives fiercely, if only he may be near his master's side.

He will kiss the hand that has no food to offer; he will lick the wounds and sores that come in encounter with the roughness of the world. He guards the sleep of his pauper master as if he were a prince.

When all other friends desert, he remains. When riches take wings and reputation falls to pieces, he is as constant in his love as the sun in its journey through the Heavens. ~

Donations Appreciated!

We are always in need of the basics, such as: towels, dog houses, toys, quality food for fosters, leashes, collars, kitty beds, vitamins, biscuits and treats, cat litter, travel kennels, and wire crates. And, of course, monetary donations are quickly put to good use!
